Appointments
If you decide that you might be interested in making an appointment, the first step is to call us. After a short consultation to discuss your specific needs and goals for therapy, we will decide if Triangle Cognitive Therapy is a good working match for you. At that point, we will set a convenient appointment time.
Prior to your appointment, you will be asked
to read our Outpatient Services Contract and our HIPAA/ Patient Rights Policy.
We also ask that you complete several forms to provide with your demographic information. All of these forms can be downloaded from the home page.
Fees and Payment
Our fees are comparable to other therapists in the area. Fees are not negotiable. It is expected that a payment is made at the time service is rendered. Payment can be made with cash, check, or credit card. All clients are asked to keep a credit card on file at the time of intake.
Insurance
In-network: Currently, Triangle Cognitive Therapy is in-network with Aetna, United Healthcare/UHC Oxford/Oscar/UMR (except for Community Plans), Anthem (Healthplus and Child Healthplus only), and Cigna.
Out-of-network: Based on our group's licensing and experience, our services are covered by most insurances if your plan offers reimbursement for out-of-network providers. Insurance plans are all very different so the amount that may be reimbursed varies. Out-of-network claims will be submitted for you and we will work with you financially, based on your insurance benefits. Please contact your insurance provider prior to your first appointment to determine how much reimbursement you can expect.
Getting help in between sessions
The therapists at Triangle Cognitive Therapy strive to be consistent support for clients. We encourage you to feel comfortable contacting us in between sessions if there is a problem that emerges. However, we can’t always be available and will generally try to respond to all contacts within 24 hours. If you are in crisis or you have an emergency that requires immediate help, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Additionally, you can access free crisis counseling at the Long Island Crisis Center (LICC). LICC has a 24/7 hotline at (516) 679-1111 or online at licconline.org.
Telephone/Video Chat sessions
Although we believe that face-to-face sessions are the most productive,
if you are unable to get to the office, we will offer sessions by phone or
through confidential video. Regular session fees will apply.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Almost everything that is discussed in session is private and
confidential. This applies to both teens and adults. There are a
few exceptions to this rule that requires us to report to appropriate
authorities and those who may be affected.
-
Suspected child abuse or elder abuse
-
Threats to commit serious bodily harm to another person/s
-
Threats to commit serious self-harm or suicide.
Cancellations
All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Any appointments that are cancelled within the 24-hour period will need to be rescheduled within the week, or there will be a charge of $100 for a missed session. Insurance can not be billed for missed sessions.
