Executive Director & Owner, LCSW, CASAC, A-CBT

Dena Lampert

For many years, I have naturally gravitated toward the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model. This evidenced-based model focuses on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected, like the points of a triangle.

Often, when we find that our behavior is dysfunctional, it is usually connected to distorted thoughts and feelings. CBT teaches us how to become mindful of our distorted thinking and how it affects us emotionally and behaviorally. In my experience, this approach is very effective in helping to create a change in life.

Although I consider myself an eclectic counselor I tend to always gravitate towards Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. I feel this approach works best with setting goals and achieving them. CBT therapy is effective in so many aspects of our life, in school, at work, and at home.

Most of my experience has been with the young adult population, I specialize in anxiety-related concerns, relationship and family issues, transitional concerns, self-image and social problems, and trauma.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I use CBT techniques to identify patterns of behavior and thinking that may be creating negative cycles. Our work will help you think or do things differently in order to increase your satisfaction in life.

I hope to work with individuals, couples, and families to treat their individual, relational and social issues. We will work together on overcoming any challenges you are facing, and I will support you in moving forward.

I have focused much of my work with children and adolescents to target and expand upon mindfulness techniques, grounding exercises, self-advocacy, and social skills to succeed and promote healthy childhood development.

My goal as your therapist is to foster a safe and trusting environment where you can thrive socially and emotionally.

My goal as a therapist is to meet you where you want to start, and to  work together so you can arrive at your wanted destinations. Using emotion-focused therapy, I will validate you and then focus on addressing your challenges.

The therapeutic relationship is not linear, it will go through different phases, and I am happy to experience them all with you on the way to self actualization

I am a firm believer that not all therapeutic approaches fit all. CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing have shown to be beneficial throughout my experience as a therapist. With this increased insight, clients can challenge these maladaptive thoughts which can lead to improvements in behaviors and positive outcomes in their lives.

I am fluent in Spanish and English and I am excited to use my knowledge and skills to help children, teens, and adults who might be more comfortable with therapy in Spanish.

Through multiple techniques, I aspire to help change the way you may think and feel about yourself and the world, by identifying unhealthy thoughts and helping you challenge them.
